CQE secures sponsorship deal with local football team
CQE have recently invested over £500 for Barnsley based 11-a-side football team, Hoyland Common Falcons U16s, new kit for the 2022/23 season. It came after Managing Director, Stuart Barker, was approached directly by the first team Head Coach, Chris Spooner, about sponsorship, in which he said:
“In the current cost of living crisis, we were struggling to find a sponsor for the team. It's such an important part of the community and the team and I really appreciated CQE stepping up to help.”
Formed in 1979 by Mark Crossley’s Dad, a former Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham footballer, The Falcons make up just one team out of over 14 at the club. The under U16’s finished league runners-up last season but are hoping to claim the trophy this year.
CQE were delighted to be able to support a local team and make a difference to young children looking to get into sport with Stuart Barker stating:
“When I was approached by Chris from Hoyland Common Falcons regarding sponsorship I saw it as an opportunity for CQE to make a difference, however small to the local community. It was a proud moment seeing the lads run out onto the pitch with our logo on their shirts.”
With the backing from CQE, The Falcons went on to win their first game in their new kits with the wider CQE team spectating all the action from the side-lines. It was an incredibly proud moment for Stuart and the rest of the team to be able to be there for the celebration, and hopefully seeing them one step closer to lifting the cup at the end of the season.
